South Fork Mineral Creek Falls

near Silverton, Colorado

Getting ThereTo reach the trailhead, head west from Silverton on Highway 550 for approximately 4 miles. Turn right onto County Road 7, also known as the South Mineral Creek Road. As you drive along this scenic byway, keep an eye out for glimpses of the crystal-clear South Mineral Creek, which will accompany you throughout much of your journey. Just past the South Mineral Creek Campground is the trailhead sign for the waterfalls.

Description:  As you begin your hike, you will wind your way along the creek, serenaded by the soothing sound of rushing water. The trail gradually gains elevation, providing occasional glimpses of the peaks towering above you. 

The highlight of the trail, of course, is the series of waterfalls that await you. There are several vantage points along the trail that offer different perspectives of the falls, so take your time to savor the views and capture the perfect photograph.

If you're up for a little more adventure, you can continue along the trail to discover even more waterfalls nestled within this pristine wilderness. As you venture deeper into the rugged landscape, you'll feel a true connection to the natural world around you.
